Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Beethoven Project Symphonies 4 and 7

A marvelous showing
Why see Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Beethoven Project Symphonies 4 and 7?
The Breadth of Beethoven
Atlanta Symphony Orchestra perform a spectacular recital of Beethoven's Fourth and Seventh symphonies as part of the Beethoven Project, led by music director Nathalie Stutzmann. Composed in 1806, Beethoven's Fourth is often considered one of his lighter and more lyrical works. Nestled between the dramatic Third and the monumental Fifth, it stands out with its playful energy and sudden dynamic shifts.
Whilst it's a work which may be sandwiched between his Fifth, Sixth and Ninth, Beethoven's Seventh is by no means in their considerable shadows. A dynamic balance between orchestral grandeur and Beethoven's penchant for simple melody-driven arrangement, the masterful symphony gains momentum for a fiery finale in which its musicians play as if their very lives depend on it.
